The functional objective for the crankshaft position sensor is to determine the position and/or rotational speed ( RPM) of the crank. Engine Control Units use the information transmitted by the sensor to control parameters such as ignition timing and fuel injection timing. In a diesel, the sensor will control the fuel injection.

Ford Model: Focus Zetec 1.6L Automatic 2005. Posted May 3, 2016. My wife owns a relatively low mileage Focus Mk2 (68k miles) with Auto gearbox. At the weekend she returned from a shopping trip and advised me "the engine is making a ticking noise". When I lifted the bonnet and asked her to start it, I was horrified to hear a noise like a ball
The 86-95 5.0 Mustang uses a distributer with a TFI module mounted on the distributer or remotely mounted. The pip sensor does the same job on the Foxbodys that a crank sensor does on other cars.If you're having an ignition problem, that's the part you need to be trouble shooting. P0700 is a common code if it’s an electrical issue related to the transmission. If something has gone wrong in the transmission, your Kuga may not be able to accelerate anymore, or it’ll. If it can no longer shift, it could be caused by a solenoid/valve body that has gone bad, clutch packs, debris, and much more.
The Haynes manual doesn't say much other than the A/C compressor might have to be replaced. This is a 2000 Expedition. Remove belt. Remove bolts on A/C compressor, and let it drop down a bit. Remove single bolt on crank sensor, and remove. Reverse order to button it up. No need to remove any A/C lines, etc. Thanks JL. That doesn't sound bad at all.

The CKP sensor can be checked during starting by measuring the resistance and/or voltage with the oscilloscope. The engine cannot work without the CKP signal. A limp-home mode is therefore not possible.
I intend to make a video for all the sensors a vehicle has with different vehicles as they come along in hopes of helping someone.
